
Patricia A. (Sobocinski) Papa, 73, of Windham, NH, died Friday at her home.
Patricia was born and educated in Salem, MA and she was proud the Sobicinski family was one of the founding families of Polish immigrants in Salem and loved growing up at 40 Daniels St.
Patricia enjoyed boating, the beach, trips to the casino and Jimmy Buffett music. She was an avid reader and enjoyed game shows, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children.
Patricia operated a beauty parlor at her home in Beverly, MA for more than 30 years and was known for her generosity and kindness. She had retired to Lake Havasu AZ in 1998 prior to returning home in 2011.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Papa, to whom she was married for more than 46 years, and by her mother Alice (Dzieranowski) Sobocinski, her father Alexander and her brother Thomas.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Thomas Papa & Joanne Akre of Peabody, MA
Anthony Papa & his wife Mary Ellen of Gloucester, MA
David Papa & his wife Linda Ann of Windham, NH
Daughter: Susan Powers of Peabody, MA
Sisters: Dorothy Filip of Peabody, MA
Joan Pizzello of Salem, MA
2 Granddaughters: Kara Papa & Stephanie Powers
2 Great Grandchildren, Numerous Nieces & Nephews
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Yawkey Cancer Center at Mass General Hospital, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114, and the family asks everyone to consider becoming an organ donor.
