Obituary

John M. Baxivonus, 82, a longtime resident of Whitman, passed away on Thursday August 18th at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Cassidy) Baxivonus.

John was born in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Mary (Kryger) Baxivonus.

He proudly served his country for four years in the United Sates Navy.

John worked as a computer operations manager for the Massachusetts General Hospital for over thirty five years.

He was passionate about his family, sports and music, especially Neil Diamond.

In addition to his wife Helen, he is survived by his son, Mark Baxivonus of Weymouth and his daughter, Karen (Baxivonus) Sheridan of Abington, his granddaughters, Kate (Sheridan) Femia and her husband Giuseppe of Whitman, Emily Sheridan of Abington, his 2 great grandsons, Nicholas John and Aidan Joseph Femia.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his services on Tuesday August 23rd at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Monday August 22nd from 4:00-8:00PM
