Mrs. Ruth Jeanette Lever Phillips

Mrs. Ruth Jeanette Lever Phillips, 86, wife of the late Hubert Clifford Phillips, entered into rest, Thursday, August 18, 2011, at the home of her daughter, Lenora Morris of Grovetown, Georgia.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.


Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Augusta and was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. She was the daughter of the late Mack Austin Lever and Ruth Harden Lever. She had retired from the Graniteville Company. Her family said, “She was a loving, kind, generous and caring person.” She found good in all people.”

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law; Lenora and Jimmy Morris of Grovetown, Georgia; two grandchildren, Megan Greer Morris Smith and husband Patrick William Smith of New Orleans, LA., and Jay Carter Morris of the U.S. Air Force, Minot, North Dakota; nephews, Michael Stevens, Lester Austin Lever, Charles Henry Lever, Raymond Gary Lever, Eugene Hair, Alvin Hair, and nieces, Pam Lever Hawkins, Caroline Croyle, Deborah Dally, Sandra Lowe, Rose Ann Phillips Drawdy, Phyllis Phillips, Samuel Phillips, and Kathleen Phillips McCarty .

Pallbearers will be Roy Dieterich, Michael Stevens, Lester Lever, Charles Lever, Ray Lever and Edward Oellerich.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 3508 Professional Circle #A, Augusta, Georgia 30907-8232.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time on Sunday, August 21, 2011.
