Elda J. (Carlozzi) Lawrence, age 86 of Brockton died August 16, 2011 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles “Chuck” Lawrence. She was born in Waterbury, CT to the late Costanzo and Terisina (Scacco) Carlozzi. She lived most of her life in Pembroke before moving to Brockton.
For many years Elda and her husband owned and operated Mix’s Superette in Pembroke. She also had worked for the Madalawn Nursing Home in Brockton assisting with activities and resident support and later for Shields MRI also in Brockton as a diligent and dependable employee retiring in 2010 at the age of 85.
She was a faithful communicant of St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater; an excellent dancer, cook and baker and enjoyed sharing meals and goodies with family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, playing cards but her greatest joy was time spent with her nieces and nephews which kept her young at heart.
Elda was the loving and caring aunt of Carol Williams and her husband Eddie, Connie Johnson, Leonard Fratangelo, Mary Ann Manzo, Rose Mary Pilotte and her husband, Kenny, Richard Carlozzi and his wife Linda, Liz Carlozzi, and Robert Silva and his wife, Patti.
She was also referred to as “auntie” by her great nieces and nephews, Ann Marie Williams, Edward Williams and his wife, Pricilla, Mark Manzo, Dylan and Michael Pilotte. She also leaves several great, great nieces, nephews and friends and was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Dominic, Melva, Nicholas, Rose, Clito and Tony.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123) Brockton, Sunday 2-5pm. A procession will form at the funeral home Monday at 8:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. John Church , East Bridgewater. Burial in Centre Cemetery Pembroke.
