Fannie Lucile Brantley Cox, 95, a resident of Woodridge Assisted Living in Monroe, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.
Graveside services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Saturday, August 20, in Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Irwin County with Elder Herman Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends 2:30 until 4:00 on Saturday at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Cox was born February 18, 1916 in Nashville, GA to the late Frank T. and Lula Harnage Brantley. She retired from South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Mrs. Cox was a long time member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.
She is survived by her children: Frances (Jerry) Sanders of Atlanta, William “Bill” (Gail) Cox of Weddington, NC and Joseph (Joan) Cox, Jr. of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren: Jerald Edwin Sanders, Jr., Susan Cox (Tom) Milton, Alisha Cox (Alex) Johnson and Wade Joseph (Crystal) Cox; 8 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; sisters: Ethel Reddish of Valdosta and Evelyn Sheppard of Jacksonville, FL as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Tennel Cox, Sr., five sisters and one brother.
