Lilyan M. (Waldrop) Arruda, 84, of Tiverton, RI died Monday, August 15, 2011 at Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren, RI. She was wife of the late Antone S. Arruda.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late Wayne C. Waldrop and the late Lucy P. (Munro) Harrison. She was a B.M.C. Durfee High School graduate, Class of 1945. Prior to retirement, she was a telephone operator for New England Telephone. Mrs. Arruda was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, McClullan Chapter.
Survivors include a son: Mark S. Arruda and his wife Shirley Ann of Tiverton; a daughter: Cynthia A. Pierce of Fall River; a brother: Clayton M. Harrison and his wife Beatrice of Westport; a step-son: Anthony S. Arruda of Fairhaven; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Norman P. Pierce and Mitchell A. Pierce and sister of the late Warren A. Waldrop.
Private funeral arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
