Lillian Girard, 88, of Unity St., Woonsocket, died peacefully Sunday afternoon at St. Antoine Residence.
A lifelong resident of Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Theophyta (Hogue) Girard.
In her earlier years Lillian was employed at the French Worsted Mill and W.T. Grant Co. She also worked at Precious Blood Rectory during the 1970s and later as a certified nursing assistant at The Friendly Home before retiring.
Throughout her life Lillian was selfless in devoting her time to caring for the needs of many family members and friends.
She was a lifelong communicant of Precious Blood Church and will be remembered as a quiet woman with a profound faith.
She is survived by her brother Normand Girard, and his wife Marie, of Blackstone and several generations of nieces and nephews and their families. She was the sister of the late Ronaldo, Rosario, Albert, Horace, Charles, and Daniel Girard, Beatrice Leduc, Cecile Mullery, and four other siblings who died in childhood.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket.
