Andre N. “Andy” Durand, 56, of Bennett St., Woonsocket, died Saturday at home. He was the loving husband of Helen M. (Dansereau) Durand. They were married on April 24, 1976.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Lionel C. and Esthel M. (Turcotte) Durand. He was a lifelong Woonsocket resident.
Andre was passionate about music and enjoyed playing his guitar to several different genres.
He will be remembered as a man who loved his family.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, he is survived by three sons, Jason R. Durand, and his wife Kristen, of Danielson, CT, Ryan R. Durand and Paul R. Durand, both of Woonsocket, three grandchildren, Ashley, Jayden, and Austin. He was the brother of Robert Durand, and his wife Rachel, of North Smithfield, Raymond Durand of Woonsocket, Jeanne Hetu, and her companion Del Lessard, of Blackstone, Claire Balint of Milford NH, and Connie Leblanc, and her husband Roger, of Woonsocket. He is also survived by an uncle Robert Turcotte of Woonsocket, and many nieces and nephews. Andy was the brother of the late Paul L. Durand, USMC who died in Vietnam.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Visiting hours are omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 1 Catamore Blvd., East Providence, RI. 02914.
