Worcester- Alex Levins, 85, formerly of 80 Seymour St., died Monday, Feb. 16, in Odd Fellows Home.
His wife of 43 years, Frances (Albenowicz) Levins, died in November. He leaves three brothers, Walter Lojko of Charlton, Chester Levins of Shrewsbury, and Stephen Lojko of California; nephews and nieces. Four brothers, Henry Levins, Adolph Levins, Joseph Levins, and William Levins, predeceased him. A sister, Josephine Charon, also predeceased him. He was born in Lincoln, Maine, son of William and Theresa (Ilskowski) Levins, and lived here most of his life.
Mr. Levins was a truck driver for E.L. Dauphinais Concrete Co. for many years before retiring.
He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish and the Grafton Hill Post American Legion.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Philippines.
The funeral will be held Thursday, Feb. 19, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be private. Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in the funeral home.
