Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Edward Church at 9 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM. Mrs. Sweeney died Tuesday morning at the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton after a brief illness. She was born in Bridgewater daughter of the late George and Annie (Kelliher) Cochrane. She moved to Brockton as a young girl and attended Brockton schools. For many years Mrs. Sweeney worked in the shoe industry in the Brockton area. She retired from Foot Joy Shoe and also had worked at the former Dartmouth Shoe Co. She had been a member of the Brotherhood Union.
She was a past member of the Brockton Senior Citizens. She enjoyed music and singing and also gardening, working in her yard and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was a former communicant of St. Edward Church
She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren2 sisters Catherine Vacher and Marion Spillane both of BrocktonSeveral nieces and nephewsShe was the sister of the late Harry, George, Roy, Lester and Edward Cochrane, Mildred Thomas and Madeline Cochrane
