Rocky Hill - Lesley Bigelow Lohr, 59, formerly of Waterford, passed away on Friday, August 12 , 2011, peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born in St. Louis and grew up in New York City and various places in Connecticut. She attended the Chapin School in Manhattan for twelve years, had an associate in applied science from Bennett college, a bachelor of arts from the University of Hartford, and a master of arts from New York University. She taught for ten years at the Episcopal School in New York City. She was also Director of the New London Day Nursery in New London and a community worker for Child & Family Services.
She is survived by a daughter, Hadley Zielonka; and two grandchildren, Kai and Aidan; brothers, Tom, John, and Alan Bigelow; her niece and nephew, Kristen and Tyler Bigelow; and her ex-husband, Howard Lohr.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday at Calvary Church in Stonington.
