Obituary

Frank L. Basoli, 90, of Framingham, passed away on August 12, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. (Campbell) Reed Basoli, who passed away on Jan. 28, 2011, and with whom he shared 41 years of marriage.
Born in Milford, the son of the late Luigi and Rosa (Villa) Basoli, Frank was raised and educated in Framingham where he graduated from Framingham High School. He enlisted in the United States Army on August 11, 1942 and served with the 833rd Bombardment Squadron of the 486th Bombardment Group in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe during WWII. Frank was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. After being honorably discharged on November 4, 1945, he returned to Framingham and began working for the Perini Corp. before becoming an automobile inspector for General Motors in Framingham from where he retired after 30 years of service. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers of America, the Christopher Columbus Mutual Benefit Society of Framingham, and the Framingham V.F.W. Frank truly enjoyed being a resident of Hastings House in Framingham where he coordinated a multitude of social events and enjoyed playing bingo and bocce. Above all else, he was dedicated and devoted to his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, and all those who he shared a wonderful friendship with.
Frank was the devoted father of David Basoli and his wife Carol of Upton, Linda Pedini and her husband Joseph of Milford, Frank Basoli and is wife Jan of CT, Sheila Buell of Hubbardston, Sandra Russell of FL, Sharon Basoli of VT, and the late Skip Reed. He was the cherished papa of 11 grandchildren including Tommy Reed, Peter Pedini, Tricia Reed Divortorio, Brian Basoli, Danny Basoli, and Jason Basoli and 7 great-grandchildren. Brother of the late Gino Basoli, Frank is also survived by his dear sister-in-law Mary Basoli of Natick and his loving nieces and nephews Marilyn, Louis, Linda, Janet, and Donna.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend Frank’s funeral service in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St. (at Natick Common) NATICK on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 4-7 PM.
