Dolores G. (Calo) Serino a life-long Medford resident died after a brief illness at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 73.
Born in Everett and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Margaret (Bonito) Calo. A graduate of Medford High with the class of 1956, Dolores, worked for many years with First National Stores in Medford. She was also dedicated to provide social services for those in need. As a good neighbor who was active in community affairs, Dolores helped preserve the integrity and safety of her neighborhood especially leading efforts to eliminate heavy trucking on Riverside Ave. Dolores was a devout woman who was active in Saint James Parish until its closing.
Dolores was a devoted mother to Stephen Serino and his dog Butkus, Edward Serino and his wife Donna all of Medford, Joseph Serino and his fiancé Andrea Gianino of Wakefield. She was a loving grandmother to Alexis, Ava and Mia and a dear sister to Edward Calo and his wife Shirly of Medford. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, August 16th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
