CW3 JESSE B. MYERS (RET.), 90, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011.
He retired from Civil Service where he had been chief of the M.A.I.T Team at Ft. Knox. He was a decorated Army Veteran of World War II, having received many commendations, including the Purple Heart. He was also honorably discharged from the National Guard and was a life member of the VFW Yingling-Ridgley Post No. 7472.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise, Corrine and Janet.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 41 years, Kathleen (Billington) Myers; children, Jesse, Bruce (Kathy) and Leon Myers (Nancy), Margaret Ann Ridgeway, Anthony Kinzel (Karen) and Dr. Wayne Kinzel (Cheri) and Susan Rogers; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Ginny; and his loving and faithful friends, Missy, Duchess and Ladybug.
His service will be 1pm Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with cremation to follow. Visitation will be Sunday 11am-7pm and Monday after 10am until the service.
