Mrs. Marilyn R. Goguen, age 62, of Cleveland, GA formerly of Wilmington passed away August 8th at the Stonehenge Assisted Living Facility in Blairsville, GA following a lengthy illness.
Marilyn was born in Lowell, MA and was the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Mildred (Turner) Goguen. Raised and educated in Wilmington she was a member of the Wilmington High School class of 1964. Marilyn worked for a number of years at Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington and also worked at the former Sunnyhurst Restaurant in Wilmington. In more recent years prior to her declining health Marilyn worked as a licensed practicing nurse in Plymouth, MA, Florida and Georgia. specializing in private nursing care. Marilyn enjoyed Mother Nature a loved to be outdoors spending time at the beach, up in mountains, or in her yard caring for her flower garden and her fruits and vegetables. Marilyn also enjoyed writing poetry in leisure time, leaving her family with a beautiful collection of her writings.
Marilyn is survived by her two loving sons, Scott Madden of Imperial, MO and Thomas Madden of Cleveland, TN. She is also survived by three grandchildren and is further survived by her brother, Gerald, "Jerry" Goguen of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Monday, August 15th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Sunday from 3 thru 7. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington
