Obituary

Mr. Anthony R. Clemente, age 83 of Malden, formerly of Medford died Wednesday in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Wende (Giles) Clemente with whom he shared nearly 4 years of marriage, and the former husband of Rita (Gambetta) Clemente.

Mr. Clemente was born in Somerville, son of the late Biagi and Mary (Carlino) Clemente. Mr. Clemente was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1946. He continued his education at the University of Missouri achieving a B.A. in Engineering. He was self employed as an engineer. In earlier years, he was the proprietor of a Jewelry store in Medford Square. During the 1990’s he had also owned and operated an Italian restaurant in Falmouth named the Finish Line. He was a very creative man and known for inventing things. One of his favorite things was to travel. Italy was his favorite destination. He was a veteran of WWII and served our country in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three step children, Charles Ruckdeschel of NC, Adam Ruckdeschel of NY and Keri Loney and her husband Sam of NC. Father of the late Diane, Richard and Scott Clemente. Brother of Joseph Clemente and his wife Josephine of FL, and Angelo Clemente of AZ. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford, Monday at 9:30 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Anthony’s memory in St. Francis of Assisi Church 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 PM.

Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery Medford.
