Obituary


Francis Dupuis 96, died on August 10, 2011 in the peacefulness of his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was the beloved husband of the late Rita (Baldwin) Dupuis for 56 years. Born in Marlboro and raised in Brockton, Francis was the son of Amedee and Aurore (Bousquet) Dupuis.
He attended Sacred Heart School and was a 1933 graduate of Brockton High School. Frank was an active member of the former Sacred Heart Parish. He was a past president of the Sacred Heart Social Club as well as an officer of the Franco-American Club National, to these organizations he gave generously of his time. More recently, Frank was a communicant of Christ the King Parish.
In 1942, he became a member of the Brockton Fire Department serving proudly for 36 years. For most of those years, he was the department’s Master Mechanic. Known for his mechanical keenness, he was often called upon by other cities and towns to share his expertise in that field.
He was owner of Dupuis Machine Products and co-owner of Sta-Sharp Knife.
Having been blessed with both longevity and intellectual acumen, Frank was able to spend his retirement years enjoying a variety of pursuits. In addition to being a competent gunsmith, Frank was interested in computers, cooking, sports, was a master of Suduko and supplied the family with impeccably crafted cross stitch pieces. Frank remained active and enjoyed life to the very end.
He is survived by his loving children: David Dupuis and his wife Eleanor of East Bridgewater, Peter Dupuis and his wife Gail of Brockton, Jo-Ann Kazlowski and her husband Walter of Abington, John Dupuis and his wife Judith of Brockton, and Janine Couture and her husband John of So. Easton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Frank also leaves his brother Joseph of Brockton. He was the brother of the late Annette Lanoue.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Sunday 2-6 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church 10:30 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton, Massachusetts.
