Obituary

Fred W. “Rusty” Duff, 73, of Manchester, died August 11, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Groton, NY, September 24, 1937 to Harry and Iola (Webster) Duff. He had been a Manchester resident most of his life.

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Duff was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 633 and worked 18 years as a coach driver for Concord Coach. He also worked 12 years for Silver Brothers.

He had been a member for 49 years at the former St. Patrick Church where he served as an usher. He was currently a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. In addition he was a member of the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.

He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and going to breakfast with them. He also loved decorating at Christmas time. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Irene (Richard) Duff of Manchester; two sons, Richard W. Duff of Manchester and Brian M Duff and his wife, Charlotte, of Antrim, NH; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; three siblings, Charles Duff and his wife, Carol, of Cortland, NY, Margaret Stahl and her husband, Roger, of Ogdensburg, NY, and Robert Duff and his wife, Dorothy, of Cortland, NY; nieces and nephews.



A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
