James Bryan Sears, Sr., age 82, Douglas, GA passed away on August 10, 2011 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Sears was born in Douglas, GA to the late Stanford and Margaret McMillan Sears on May 29, 1929. Mr. Sears was a plant superintendent at Williams Institutional Foods and had worked for Williams Foods for 45 years. He was a member and a deacon of College Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at College Avenue Baptist Church with interment following in the Satilla Memorial Gardens. Survivors include: wife: Willie Mae Carver Sears, Douglas, GA; daughter: Cynthia (John David) Snipes Vickers, Douglas, GA; son: James (Terri Griffin) Bryan Sears, Jr., Douglas, GA; grandchildren: Scott Bryan Snipes, Austin Snipes both of Atlanta, GA; Eric (April) Snipes, J. D. Sears, Will Sears all of Douglas, GA; great grandchildren: Case Snipes and Raegan Snipes both of Douglas, GA; sisters: Dorothy Cliett, Denton, GA, Geraldine Johnson, Douglas, GA; brother: Charles H. (Iva Ann Hursey) Byrd, Douglas, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
