Shaw, Elizabeth Ann (O’Brien) of Hingham, passed away August 8, 2011.
Beloved wife of Dr.Eugene Douglas Shaw of Hingham. Loving mother of Douglas Michael Shaw and his wife Virginia of FL, Gregory Francis Shaw and his partner Parra Tomkins of Cambridge, Kevin John Shaw and his wife Tammy of Brick, NJ and Daniel Robert Shaw of Hingham. Devoted sister of Dr. John F. O'Brien of Marshfield. Cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews .
Elizabeth attended the Woodward School for Girls and Tufts College receiving a BS in Occupational Therapy. After beginning her career with the U.S. Public Health Sevice in Brighton she was commissioned as 1st. Lt in the U.S. Army Medical Specialist Corp with service in the Neuropsychiatric Clinic at Walter Reid Army Hospital. Elizabeth married in 1956. She was president of the Princeton Women’s Club, NJ. and also belonged to the Hingham Women's Club, Kimball Beach Community Cub, Hingham Memorial Bell Tower Committee and performed local volunteer work .
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM.
Burial in Hingham Cemetery, Hingham.
