Mrs. Milna L. Poindexter, age 92, of Pfafftown, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on March 22, 1919 in Forsyth County to the late Ammon and Mamie Watts Long.
Mrs. Poindexter was a homemaker and attended Pfafftown Baptist Church.
Mrs. Poindexter is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Claudia Poindexter, of King; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Eddie Davis, of East Bend; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Poindexter, of King; Lindsay Davis, of Raleigh; and Cody Davis, of Raleigh; and one sister, Lois Poplin, of Ronda, NC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Poindexter was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel P. Poindexter, three brothers, Paul, Kelly, and Melvin Long; and three sisters, Treva Norman, Erlene Whitley, and Alta Brown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Thomas Bounds and Hospice Chaplain Meghan McSwaim officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. in the sanctuary prior to the service.
