Obituary



Eugene Arthur “Gino” DeSimone of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Medford, died suddenly on Sunday. He was 76 years old. Born in East Boston and raised in Medford, he was a devoted husband, father and principle owner at Carr-Dee Test Boring Company.

He leaves behind his loving wife Joan Vivian DeSimone (Petricone) with whom he shared 50 years of life and love; four children and their spouses; James & Sharon DeSimone, Sandy & Robert W. Campbell, Jr, Gino & Robin Sue DeSimone and Toni DeSimone, as well as five grandchildren; Robert W.Campbell III, Kirstin Campbell, Alexander DeSimone, Amanda DeSimone and Cecelia DeSimone. He is also survived by his brother and sister in law Arthur & Bonnie DeSimone, and brother in-law and sister-in-law Alex and Shannon Rocco along with many other friends and family members.

As an avid athlete, he was most proud when coaching Medford Youth and High School Hockey players, and in his retirement years, his interest shifted to the golf course where he could enjoy the sport with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.He was a popular figure at the Delray Beach Country Club where he worked as a starter.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday from 4 thru 8 and again on Saturday morning, August 13 at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
