Helen Silvestri, 97, of Putnam Pike, Greenville, died Monday, August 8, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Manzo) Silvestri.
Born in Providence, she had lived there until moving to Smithfield five years ago. She was a WWII Navy and Army Veteran. Before retiring she had been a fifth grade teacher in the Providence Public School system for 32 years.
She is survived by her sister Anna Silvestri of Greenville, her niece Lisa Silvestri of Smithfield, and nephews Joseph Silvestri of Norfolk, MA and John Silvestri of North Smithfield. She was the sister of the late Nicholas and Anthony Silvestri.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation Saturday 8:30 – 9:00am.
