Leona M. Cino, 72, of Derry, NH, died Sunday, February 15, 2004 in the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. Leona was born in Derry on December 28, 1931, a daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Eddy) Morrill and was a lifelong resident. Leona was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1949 and later of St. Anselm's College in Manchester and the Elliot Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse for Dr. Brena in Manchester for 20 years. She was also the Director of Nursing at the Alexander-Eastman Hospital in Derry and was a staff nurse for the Elliot Hospital School of Nursing.
She is survived by three sons, David W. Cino of Templeton, MA, Paul V. Cino of Windham, James Michael Cino of Derry, one daughter, Ann Marie Simmons of Stoneham, MA, 11 grandchildren, two brothers, Rev. William Morrill of Salem, David Morrill of Derry, three sisters, Barbara Whitcraft of Charlestown, Diane Morrill LaPlante of Derry, Brenda Hastings of Derry, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Thursday, February 19th from 4 - 7:30pm with funeral services to begin at 7:30pm. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice House, 230 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.
