Obituary

Robert G. Doherty, a 5 year resident of Seabrook, New Hampshire and formerly of Billerica and Charlestown, died on Monday, August 8, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire following an extended illness. He was 76 years old.

Robert was born in Boston on October 15, 1934 to the late John and Grace (McKenney) Doherty. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1952. He enlisted into the United State Marine Corps and served his country proudly and honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on September 28, 1961 with the rank of Corporal. Robert worked as a printer for many years at Goodway Graphics in Burlington and retired in 1989. He was a member of The Metropolitan Rod & Gun Club.

Robert is the devoted father of Jeffrey Doherty of Oklahoma, Tricia Hennessey of New Hampshire, Michael Doherty of New Hampshire and Stephen Doherty of Florida. He is the loving Grandfather of Brendan Doherty. He is the beloved brother of Francis X. Doherty of Hyannis, Maureen Moysey of Winthrop and the late John "Jack" Doherty, Marie Sweeney, Eddie Doherty and Leo Doherty.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's Funeral on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours are on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
