Wayne E. Dodge died peacefully on August 8, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the loving husband of Ruthann (Wilkey) Dodge with whom he shared nearly forty-four years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on June 30, 1944, he was the son of the late George “Bud” and Annette (St. Hilaire) Dodge. Wayne served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Wayne retired from the IRS in Washington, D.C. and returned to Gloucester two years ago. He was also a former member of the Danvers School Committee
Along with his wife Ruthann, he is survived by a cherished daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Donald Pitman of Haverhill, his brother, Glenn Dodge of Beverly, a brother-in-law James Wilkey and his wife Yanza of Miami, eight grandchildren and two nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by their beloved daughter, Robin.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Vst. hrs are Thurs from 4-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Wayne’s name to Hospice of Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers or Northeast ARC, 64 Holten St., Danvers MA 01923.
