Obituary

Maevsky, Anthony of Brookline, Massachusetts. Born May 14, 1932. Died August 6, 2011. Tony died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and friends after a hard-fought battle with leukemia. Born in Pinsk, Poland, Tony immigrated to the United States after World War II and settled in Passaic, New Jersey. He was drafted and served honorably in the United States Army, including as a military police officer, until his discharge in 1961. Tony went on to work for many years in Boston as a hydrologist for the United States government until his retirement in 1999. Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Inga Maevsky of Brookline, his cherished son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Caroline Maevsky of Hamilton, New Jersey, and his much-loved grandchildren Alexander and Erica Maevsky. Services will be held at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower Street (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10. A private burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
