HUGENBERGER, Janet (McMullin) 97 years old of Wellesley died peacefully on August 4, 2011. Janet had 3 brothers - now deceased -Donald, Kimball, and Robert McMullin, formerly of Weston. They all grew up in Waban. Janet attended the Boston University School of Music, where she majored in piano. She worked as a medical secretary and subsequently married the late Paul W. Hugenberger M.D. in 1939. The couple moved to Wellesley in 1943 where they raised 7 children: Gail E. Gillies of Santa Barbara, CA, Joan R. Hugenberger of Wellesley, Roy W. Hugenberger of Nashua, NH, Paula L. Richardson of Sherman, TX, Gordon P. Hugenberger of Boston, P. Dana Hugenberger of Wayland, and Scott G. Hugenberger of Orange County, CA. Once her children were mostly grown, she took up oil painting. She became an accomplished artist, winning numerous awards for her landscape oils done on location. She is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, and by 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A private interment will be at the Newton Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at the Wellesley Hills Congregational Church, 207 Washington St., Wellesley, on Tuesday, August 9th at 2:00 PM.
