Frances L. Metheny, 88, of Pinewood Drive, died Saturday in the Hospice Intake Center, Providence.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Francis and Lillian (Damaral) Spencer .
She had lived in Smithfield and was a LPN with RI MHRH and BHDDH until her retirement. She was a member of the Eastern Starr and was a past matron of Chapter 13 OES, a member of the Fogarty Center and active in their family advocacy group. She received the volunteer of the year award from the Fogarty Center and Advocates in Action. She was active in the Red Hat Society and line dancing.
She leaves a daughter, Shana Metheny of Smithfield and a brother, Richard Spencer of South Bend , IN.
Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 12 noon in the
ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation Tuesday 11am – 12pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Family Advocacy c/o The Fogarty Center, 220 Woonasquatucket Ave, North Providence, RI 02911.
