Lynn A. (Leger) Cousens, 52, of Mystic, passed away Thursday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
She was born in New London on July 12, 1959 the daughter of Kenneth Leger Sr. and Janeth (Colson) Leger. Raised in Mystic, she attended local schools. She was employed as a teacher’s aide at the Katherine Kolnaski Magnet School in Groton. Previously, she had been a home daycare provider for many years. In her spare time, Lynn enjoyed scrapbooking and genealogy research.
She was married to Wayne Cousens in Jamaica on January 17, 2008. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Matthew Leger of Mystic; her step-daughters, Cara Evans of Uncasville, Stephanie Vadasz of E. Hampton, and Alison Cousens of N. Stonington; 2 step-grandchildren, Vanessa and P.J.; her siblings , Kenneth Leger Jr. of Groton, Mary Handy of Uncasville, Glen Leger, Danielle Duclos, and Michelle Lewark, all of Mystic; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 5-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, Mystic on Wednesday at 10am. Private burial will be in the family plot at St. Patrick Cemetery, Old Mystic.
