Juanita Scearce Pribble, age 82, of 684 Berry Hill Road, Danville, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in the Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born December 26, 1928 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Gilbert Scearce and Mary E. Thornton Scearce. She worked in the knitting division of Dan River, Inc. and was a member of Brosville United Methodist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed working and caring for others.
Survivors include her husband, Horton L. Pribble of the home; a daughter: Shelia Pribble Middlebrooks and her husband Jacky Middlebrooks of Spartanburg, SC; a son: Gary Lee Pribble and his wife Carol B. Pribble of Danville; one grandson: Drew Horton Middlebrooks of Spartanburg, SC; three nieces and one nephew. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Irvin Lee Scearce, and by a sister, Mary Ellen Hadden.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Faith Weedling will be held Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 5, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At other times, they will be at the residence on Berry Hill Road.
