Hanson – Christine (Panus) Pietroski, 58, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday August 3. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Pietroski.
Born in Boston and raised in Abington she was the daughter Mary L. (Butler) Panus formerly of Abington and the late Chester S. Panus.
She was a graduate of Abington High and Fitchburg State College and had worked at Self-Help, Inc.and taught special needs students in the Weymouth Public Schools.
Christine served the Lord with gladness all her days, and enjoyed working with children of all ages. She loved nature and participated in hiking, scuba diving, camping, and gardening.
Chris also enjoyed reading and sharing literature with others. She had a wonderful “way with words” and was an enjoyable conversationalist. She will be missed.
In addition to her husband Thomas and her mother Mary, she is survived by her loving children whom she adored Jason Pietroski of Plymouth, and Kristin (Pietroski) Swayles and her husband Randy of Hanson, her brothers Michael and Steven Panus, her sister Trisha Gillcrist, her aunts Frances Gonski and Loretta Zardeckas, and her dear cousins Irene and Bob O’Grady and Joseph Butler as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many loving friends.
Her visiting hours will be held Monday August 8 from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 9 at 8 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, Hanson. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson.
