Obituary

Johnny Edward Harbin, 54, of Tifton died Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Oakey Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mickey Jacobs, Jermaine Johnson, Kenneth Green, David McMahan, Mike Delk and Jimmy Pierce will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2011, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals prior to the service.

Mr. Harbin was born on April 14, 1957 in Tift County and was the son of Gay Austin Harbin and Louise Hammond Harbin, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne Pafford and Butch Harbin. He was a self-employed paint contractor and a member of Tift Avenue Church of God. He loved to play golf, ride motorcycles and weight-lifting. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Harbin is survived by his wife, Linda Floyde of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Holly Connell of Omega; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Floyde and Larry Thompson of Abbeville; two brothers, Billy Connell and Gordon Ray Harbin, both of Tifton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara Powers of Tifton and Marlene and Butch Kirkland of Panama City, Florida; and three grandchildren, Kristen Connell, Jac Connell and Jasmine Floyde.
