GLOUCESTER: Dionisio S. Goulart, age 86, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in the Addison Gilbert following a brief illness. He was the husband of Arcangela G. Goulart.
Born in Pico, Azores on February 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Jose and Julia Goulart. He has resided in Gloucester for 40 years.
He worked as a foreman in Portugal and also worked as a cook at the former Surf Restaurant in Magnolia for 10 years. He enjoyed soccer, his favorite team was Sporting. He also loved animals and enjoyed gardening. He especially loved spending time with his large family and singing to his younger grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, he is survived by three daughters, Filomena M. and her husband, Celestino Goulart, LaSalette and her husband, Carlos Goulart and Lucia and her husband, William Glatfelter all of Gloucester; six grandchildren, Gina G. Robertson, Celia Robertson, Carlen Montello, Michael Goulart, Nicole Ventura and Erica Tavares; seven great-grandchildren, Leonard Robertson, Gabriela Robertson, David Robertson, Alexia Mateo, Janessa Tavares, Sophia Montello and Adelyn Ventura and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday in the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 5 - 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
