Obituary


Ralph Squillante of Medford, died Tuesday at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 80. Ralph was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Alfonso and the late Mary (DiMicchilo) Squillante. An Army veteran of the Korean War, Ralph worked as a barber throughout his life and operated shops at the Prudential Center, Sheridan Hotel and the Ritz Carlton. Ralph was also a talented percussionist and played drums with several bands in the Boston Area including the MelTones. A Medford resident for over 40 years, Ralph was a member of the Medford Elks and the Winchester Sons of Italy. He was devoted to his family end enjoyed the company of his relatives and friends.


The beloved husband of Jean (Frallicciardi) with whom he shared 61 years of marriage, he was a devoted father of Debra Squillante, of Stoneham, Rene Squillante of East Boston, Cheryl Delano of Palm Beach Garden, FL, Jean George and her husband Paul of Derry, NH and Ralph Squillante, Jr of Medford. He was a loving grandfather of Richard, Jesse, Dane, John, Julie, Joanna, Melanie, Michelle and a dear brother to Patsy, Anthony, Flora and Anna Squillante.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, August 6th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
