Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Dorothy M. (Oliver) Lezynski, 95, died peacefully Sunday, July 31, 2011 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Chester S. Lezynski, Sr. who died in 1984.
Born in Gloucester on September 11, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary B. (Rivers) Oliver. A lifelong resident of Gloucester, she attended Gloucester public schools.
Dorothy was employed as a senior clerk in the Welfare Department for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over twenty years. She was a member of the Gloucester Fraternity Club. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and her many travels with family and friends. She had also wintered in Florida for many years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan T. and Donald L. Miller of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, Maryellen and her husband, Edward Gigliotti and Robert Lezynski all of Gloucester, Michael and his wife, Mary Lezynski of Texas, Tim and his wife, Holly Sawyer of Orlando, FL and Christine and her husband, Scott Coolen of Rowley; seventeen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Joan S. Lawson, her son, Stanley Lezynski, her sister, Madeline LaFlam, two grandsons, Joseph Lezynski and James Sawyer and a great-grandson, Matthew Lezynski.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday August 4th at the home of Maryellen and Ed Gigliotti, 496 Washington St., Gloucester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
