GLOUCESTER: Kenneth E. Morris, 62, of The Heights At Cape Ann, died Monday, August 1, 2011 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Gloucester on October 27, 1948, he was the son of Mary E. (Swinson) Lane of Hudson, Florida and the late Harold L. Morris. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester.
In his youth, Ken was a three time International Dory Champion. He worked as a lobsterman for many years. He will be dearly remembered for his dynamic personality and great sense of humor. He was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Raymond Lane of Hudson, FL; three brothers, Gary M. Morris, John R. and his wife, Joan Morris and Robert B. Morris all of Gloucester; three stepbrothers, David and his wife, Kathy Lane and Gary Lane all of Gloucester and Scott and his wife, Susan Lane of Rockport; a stepsister, Sharon Militello of Gloucester and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral services will be privately held in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, E. Gloucester at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Pace Program, 29A Emerson Ave., Gloucester, MA 01930.
