Wynifred A. (Costello) Hemenway, of Plymouth formerly of Randolph, died on August 1st at the Weymouth Healthcare Center at the age of 88. The beloved wife of the late Ross Hemenway, she is survived by her children Roberta Kerrigan and her husband George Jr of Holliston and Peter Hemenway and his wife Marian of S. Weymouth. She also leaves her grandchildren George Kerrigan III, Michael Kerrigan, Susan Spratt, Daniel Hemenway and Brian Hemenway and 9 great grandchildren. Grandmother of the late Kevin Hemenway and sister of the late Mildred Rogers and Frances Jameson.
She was born in Boston and lived in Randolph until 1976 when she moved to Plymouth. Wynifred had summered in Plymouth since the 1930’s in Cedarville, she was a volunteer at Jordan Hospital for over 20 years, was a member of the Bonnie Seniors and an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 4th at St. Bonaventure’s Church at 12 PM followed by burial at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne. A visiting hour will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) from 10:30 to 11:30 AM prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St, Watertown, MA 02472.
