WESTPORT – Evelyn (Proulx) Potuchek, 104 years old, of Westport, formerly of Rhode Island, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at home. She was the wife of the late Christopher W. Potuchek. She was born in Warren, RI, a daughter of the late Basil and Melvina (St. Pierre) Proulx.
She attended St. John the Baptist Church in Westport and managed the German Hall of Pawtucket with her husband. Mrs. Potuchek was the recipient of the Boston Post Gold Headed Cane for being the eldest resident of Westport. She is survived by 3 daughters: Evelyn Alberg, Dorothy Gifford and Shirley Dauray all of Westport; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lillian Integlia and grandmother of the late Christopher and Russell Stonis.
Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Wednesday, August, 3, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport, followed by a 11 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
