Nancy C. Chesbro Maher, age 68, of Mystic, passed away Friday at Mystic Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in New London on January 9, 1943 the daughter of Floyd and Bessie Mae (Cooper) Chesbro. A life-long resident of the area, she was employed at IGA and later Better Value Supermarkets in Mystic, Gales Ferry, and Lisbon for over 20 years before retiring.
Her husband, Floyd Maher Sr. died September 21, 2004.
She is survived by her children, Penny Dawson of Ledyard, Floyd Maher Jr. (Lori) of Groton, and Wendy Maher of Phoenix, AZ; step-children, Marion Dell, Mike and Joe Maher, all of New London, and Trish Giomi (Stacey) of NV; her siblings, Floyd Chesbro Jr. (Joan) of Ledyard, Betty Kinney (David) of Ashaway, RI, Rose Palmer of Ledyard, Regina Babonas of Groton, Sue Cleveland (Eddie) of AL, Darlene Crandall (Fred) of Mystic, and Mike Chesbro (Lynn) of Lebanon; grandchildren, Robert Dawson Jr. and Spencer Dawson of Ledyard, Kim & Beth Dawson of Griswold, Jessica, Sargent, Ashton Gross of Washington, Amber Maher of Groton, David, John, Josh Maher, James Dell, Meagan Maher all of New London, Coty Maher of Colchester, and Tabatha Maher of NV; and a great-grandchild, Elijah Gross of MI. She was predeceased by a stepson, Bobby Maher, and two grandchildren, Tiffany Maher and Ryan Dawson.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 11am – 12:45pm, followed by a service at 1pm.
Burial will be in Ledyard Center Cemetery.
