Cora E. (Hoeckel) McAdam, 78, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her cherished family and friends, on Monday August 1, 2011, at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood.
Born in Dedham, MA on October 7, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Theodore, Sr. and Agnes (Burke) Hoeckel.
Cora grew up and was educated in Dedham, and was a graduate of Dedham High School. Formerly of Dedham, she had made her home in Mansfield for the past 48 years.
Prior to retiring, she had worked for over 10 years in the Customer Service Department at the Robert Allen Fabric Co. in Mansfield.
Cora’s favorite times spent were those in the presence of her loving family and friends. She enjoyed traveling and cooking, and will always be remembered for the kind way in which she treated animals.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Kimberly E. McAdam of Mansfield. The sister of the late William Hoeckel and Theodore Hoeckel, Jr., she is also survived by Brian Lewis and Emily Lewis, whom she loved as grandchildren, and her devoted lab “Sophie”
Graveside services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday August 5th at 11:00 A.M. at the Knollwood Memorial Park, 321 High St., Canton.
Visiting hours have been omitted and those wishing may remember Cora with a donation in her memory made to the Tufts Medical Center, NICU Family Fund, in care of Tracey Boyd, nurse manager, 800 Washington St.., Box 300, Boston, MA 02111.
