Mae B. Rigdon, 85, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 15, 2004, at the Ocilla Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Thomas and Dr. Don Farley officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tifton, Georgia. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Rigdon was born May 12, 1918, in Alexander City, Alabama, to the late Lemuel and Annie McDaniel Mathis. She lived in Ocilla for many years and was a former resident of Tifton, Georgia. Mrs. Rigdon was a homemaker, a former elementary school lunchroom lady and a former manager of the Osceola Motel. She was a member of the Ocilla Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Rigdon is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Bill and Linda Rigdon, Ocilla and Tommy and Betty Rigdon, Conyers; one daughter and son-in-law: Betty Jean and Jack Mckey, East Glazier Park, MT; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; one Sister: Evelyn Brown, Tifton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Rigdon, one sister, Thelma Ely and one brother, L.D. “Dick” Mathis, Jr.
