Worcester – Jean I. (Stendrup) Rigney, 85, of Worcester died on Friday, July 29th in her home after an illness.
Her husband of 44 years George B. Rigney died in 1997. She is survived by two sons George H. Rigney and his wife Debra of Holden and David B. Rigney of Worcester; a daughter Paula R. Cleary and her husband Thomas of Worcester; a brother Robert Stendrup and 4 grandchildren including George H. Rigney Jr. who was her primary caretaker.
Jean was born in Long Island, NY daughter of the late Hans and Bernice (Albee) Stendrup and worked for the Lundquist Tool & Manufacturing Company.
The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Summit Elder Care for their help, care and support during the final stages of Jean’s life.
Private funeral services will be held and burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
