Funeral services for Joseph G. Haynes, 87, of Ashburn, Ga. will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, in Ashburn, Ga. Mr. Haynes died Friday at Tift Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Haynes was born in Jefferson County, Alabama and was the son of the late William A. and Minnie Estelle Johnson Haynes. He was a retired crane operator for U.S. Steel. He was preceded in death by one son, Joseph G. Haynes, Jr. and one sister, Velda Chrisenberry.
He is survived by his wife, Shelby W. Haynes,; his step son, David Mayo, both of Ashburn, Ga.; his daughter, Elaine Renee Limbaugh, Huey Town, Alabama. Also surviving is one sister, Murl Haynes, Adamsville, Alabama, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
