Jimmie Opal Griffin Pruett, 86, of Fitzgerald died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 30, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Biggers officiating. Donna Wilder will give the eulogy and Jennie Jay will do a scripture reading. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pruett was born October 17, 1924 in Ben Hill County to the late James H. and Ida Handley Griffin. She lived in Ben Hill County most of her life. Mrs. Pruett was a retired supervisor at H.R. Kaminsky & Sons. She was a member of Dorminy Mill Baptist Church, a former Senior Adult Sunday school teacher and member of the WOW. Mrs. Pruett was a devoted Christian who loved to read and study her Bible.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Inez Reeves of Irwin County. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Howard Martin and Ernest W. Pruett, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
