MARY E. CONTI, 78, of Hingham, passed away on Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Mrs. Conti was born in Hingham and was a lifelong resident of the town. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved boating, cruising, bingo and especially cooking. She was the wife of John F. Conti of Hingham and mother of; John Conti, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Abington, Joan Bessette and her husband Joseph H. of Carver, James Conti and Joseph Conti both of Florida, Jeffrey Conti and his wife Donna of Hingham, Janine Conti of Rockport and Jay Conti of Hingham. Sister of Anna Trezza of Long Island, NY, James Houghton of Hingham and John Ingrassia of Munson. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Monday, Aug. 1st at 9:30 AM from the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square at 10:30 AM. Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Sunday from 3-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the MSPCA, 350 So. Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
