Cheek of Boston February 9, 2004, Eugene R. Cheek, Sr., Lovingly known as “Papa” 82 years. Husband of the late Dorothea L. (King) Cheek. Father of Romaine D. Peace and her husband Robert of Brockton, Eugene R. Cheek, Jr., Phyllis C. Cheek and Dorothea L. Cheek all of Boston, Sandra D. Cheek-Williams and her husband Rudolf of Hyde Park and Michael E. Charette of San Diego, CA. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 11 am. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston. Visitation Tuesday at 10 am.before service. He lived his life to the fullest !!! Papa -- We all love you and we will all miss you.
Obituary
Mr. Cheek died on Monday at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. Born in Malden, Mass., son of the late Philip E. and Lenora (Hill) Cheek, he attended school in Everett. He retired from the Charlestown Navy Yard where he was a machinist for many years and was a skilled auto mechanic by trade. During WW II he served in the US Navy as a Fireman 2nd Class. He was a gifted “Pool Player”, he was dedicated to his “Alto Saxophone” and he also enjoyed “Ball Room Dancing: Mr. Cheek enjoyed life and he lived to the fullest !!!!! and “always enjoyed a good time”. Papa loved and stood by all hischildren.
He is survived by his children, Romaine D. Peace and her husband Robert of Brockton, Eugene R. Cheek, Jr. of Boston, Phyllis C. Cheek and Dorothea L. Cheek of Boston, Sandra D.Cheek-Williams and her husband Rudolf of Hyde Park and Michael E. Charette of San Diego, CA. and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Husband of the late Dorothea L. (King) Cheek and brother of the late Robert William,Sr., Alveta, Mamie and Evelyn Cheek.
