Bruce Phelps, 59, of Shenandoah Streetin Dorchester, MA died peacefully with his husband, Buddy Lancaster, by his side, on Tuesday evening at his home in Dorchester MA.
Born in Providence, son of the late Charles S. “Bud” and Claire M. (Ottinger) Phelps. Bruce made a loving home for himself, his husband Buddy and their two Giant Schnauzers Mac and Rufus.
Mr. Phelps was an office manager in the Department of Transplant Surgery at Tufts Medical Center in Boston for well over 30 years. Countless lives were touched in many ways by his dedication and perseverance by helping those who passed through transplant offices.
He is also survived by his siblings, Charles S. Phelps, Jr. of Wyoming, RI, William Phelps of Chicago, Patricia C. Stahly of Chepachet, RI and Nancy A. Starr of Oak Island NC and 14 nieces and nephews. In addition, he was the brother of the late Robert Phelps.
Funeral Service Saturday at 10:00 AM in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, RI. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston.
