Mrs. Constance M. (Doherty) Grant, of Monument Beach and formerly of Taunton, died Tuesday, July 26 in the Royal Megansett Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, North Falmouth, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John B. Grant, Sr., and the late James Bourassa. She was born 88 years ago in Boston, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Nora (Burke) Doherty. She was educated in Boston and was a graduate of the Chelsea Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Taunton State Hospital for 20 years. Connie enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with her family and friends. She attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset and was a former communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 1 son: Gerard Grant of Monument Beach; 3 daughters: Bonnie Fresta and her husband, Ernie of North Dighton, Maryjane Grant and her husband David M. Koester of Kennebunkport, ME., and Nora R. Grant of Franklin; a daughter-in-law: Kathy Grant of Pocasset; 4 grandchildren: Meghan Fresta, Lindsey Fresta, Colleen Grant and Corey Grant Jacobs, and several nieces and nephews. Connie was also the mother of the late John B. Grant, Jr. of Pocasset.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Saturday, July 30 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
