LOWELL - Virginia M. (McCall) Perez, age 78, died Tuesday afternoon at the Willow Manor Nursing Care Center in Lowell, following a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Ramon Perez, with whom she had celebrated 59th wedding anniversary this past May 31st.
She was born in Baltimore, February 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Nelson and Cora (Lutner) McCall. She was raised in Baltimore, and relocated to Lowell in 1970. She and her husband retired to Pinellas Park in Florida, where they lived for ten years. They returned to Lowell in 1989.
She will be lovingly remembered for having devoted her life to her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Linda R. Gay of Tewksbury, Ramona L. Collinge of Tyngsboro, Darlene L. Gorman and her husband George of Lowell; a son, Ramon W. Perez of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren, Larissa Gay of Tewksbury, Nate, Barry, and Joshua Collinge of Tyngsboro, Richard Gorman of CA; five great grandchildren; and her extended family residing in Puerto Rico.
She was also mother-in-law of the late Peter A. Gay, who died in NY on September 11, 2001, and Steve Collinge, and sister of the late Dorothy Odom and William McCall.
Her funeral Service was held Friday morning, July 29, in the funeral home. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the Alzheimers Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, will be appreciated.
